Before setting off on our pirate adventure along the Danube, many people reacted with strong opinions, ranging from “That’s totally awesome” to “You’re committing suicide”. No matter to us, as we were doing it regardless: we were too far in (and we’re all far too stubborn) to go back once we’ve verbally challenged an adventure.
Just before we began our voyage, Gavin, a Kiwi from Slovakian National Radio, came down to our raft building site on the banks of the Morava River, the border between Slovakia and Austria. Our interview aired on the radio a few days later, and he also made this clip of us setting sail. Thanks again, Gavin!
Disclaimer: Prepare for a bit of awkwardness- it was our first formal interview!
Looks like heaps of fun indeed! I came across you guys on Al’s blog and really admire the Danube raft adventure, absolutely marvellous! Looking forward to your next adventures and I hope you never run out of creativity when it comes to (extra)ordinary experiences… ?
Best wishes and take care, Oliver
It was fun!…with a few rough patches that were funnier after the fact. Thanks and you take care as well!
